For Ages 5 and Up
Barbie stars in this sports title offering players the challenge of snowboarding and in-line skating. Barbie Super Sports CD-ROM, part of Mattel Media's Barbie Software for Girls series, features obstacle courses and racetracks, with each sport supporting five levels of competition.
Gameplay offers special tricks, hidden areas and stunts. Points are awarded based on success in each level and can be used to upgrade equipment, get new clothes, and acquire new stunts and tricks by visiting the Skate Shop or Snowboarding Shop. The interface is mouse intensive with a few keyboard shortcuts.
Three modes include Free Form to explore at your own pace, Race Against the Clock to set new speed records for each level, and Two-Player for turn-based competition. The five levels for in-line skating include a skate practice area, an Aquatic Park, Spring Mountain, The Carnival, and the Funky Skate Park. For snowboarding, choose the Bunny Slope, Big Trick Trail, Triple Trail Ride, Alpine Ice Racing, or the Barbie "B" Slope.
The Barbie Super Sports CD-ROM comes with five song tracks, and tracks two through six can be played on a regular stereo player. All of the songs were written by Brian Chrisman and Matt Reach and feature the titles Rollergirl, Wings, Stars, Surfin, and the Cinematic Theme. |
